Committees

As well as the monthly Parish Council meetings (see the home page for dates and locations), the Councillors also form committees.


The committees are:


Finance and HR have the overall responsibility for the management of the Council's financial affairs in accordance with the legislative requirements, regulations and guidelines. For more information, please read the Terms of Reference here.


Parish Facilities Committee have the overall responsbility for the management of the Council's buildings. For more information, please read the Terms of Reference here


Park Floral Events Committee have responsibility for the management of the Council’s parks and recreation grounds. In addition, they have responsibility for the management of the hanging baskets and floral displays, and events taking place within the parish, for example, Christmas lights. She ensures that the business of the council runs smoothly and efficiently, and is conducted in accordance with the law; the council's financial transaction are properly recorded and authorised; and manages staff members.

Parish Ranger

Martin Rhodes

Martin is responsible for: the maintenance of the parish buildings - Blackwell Community Centre, Hilcote Community Centre, Newton Community Centre, Charnwood Crescent Pavilion, and Scanderlands Pavilion; tidying up and maintaining the recreation areas (see our parks and recreation page for more information on our parks); and inspecting, maintaining and tidying the play areas


Martin can often be seen out and about in the parish van and he always has a good supply of dog poop bags - if you need any, please feel free to ask him for some.

Caretaker - Blackwell & Hilcote

Bev cleans and opens and closes up for bookings at the Blackwell and Hilcote Community Centres.

Caretaker - Newton

Simon cleans and opens and closes up for bookings at the Newton Community Centre.

Weekend Caretaker

Meghan Bullock

Meghan opens and closes up for weekend bookings at the Blackwell, Hilcote and Newton Community Centres.

Bamford Street Park Warden

Nicky Heathcote

Nicky opens and closes up Bamford Street Park so that it is only open during daytime hours.


Hilcote Caretaker - Evenings

Megan Wilkinson

Megan opens and closes for evening bookings during the week and Sunday evenings at Hilcote Community Centre.
